Paul E. Wilbur

Paul E. Wilbur, 64, formerly of Middleboro, died on Jan. 22, 2016, after a long illness. His sisters, Shirley and Cynthia, were at his side.

obit-paul.e.wilbur031Loving the West, Paul moved to Colorado in his 20s. He ran a restaurant in Colorado Springs for many years. He also renovated two homes, and became a well-loved handyman in his neighborhood.

Paul had spent the past two years traveling. He loved Alaska, and enjoyed the company of cousins while there. Martha’s Vineyard was also a favorite of his. He spent many vacations in his childhood summer home.

He is survived by his sisters, Cynthia Wilbur, and Shirley Wilbur and her partner Rob Roy, all of Oak Bluffs; his nephew Joseph Turney and wife Laurie; his niece Lisa Fletcher and husband Todd; as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Paul will be remembered for his kindness and gentle spirit. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Paul’s ashes will be buried next to his father, Edgar E. Wilbur, at Nemasket Hill Cemetery in Middleboro on August 17 at 1 pm, followed by a gathering for friends and family at the Middleboro Council on Aging at 2 pm.
