Robin Ann (Gomes) Voisine, 59, of Oak Bluffs, formerly of New Bedford, died on May 5, 2018.
Robin was born on June 28, 1959 in Oak Bluffs. She was the daughter of Jean Elizabeth (Costa) Gomes and John P. Gomes, both of New Bedford, MA.
Robin spent many years on Island with her late Grandmother, Alberta (Allard) Costa. She worked at the A&P in Edgartown for several years and made many friends while there.
Robin will be remembered by her family and friends both on and off Island as a hard worker and an easy going and friendly person.
Robin returned to New Bedford, where she married Robert Voisine. She worked as a bookkeeper/payroll clerk for Olin Ages in New Bedford for 15 years. She then went to nursing school and worked at Sacred Heart Nursing Home.
Robin suffered a bad fall 2 years ago and has had continual problems because of that fall.
On Island, Robin is survived by her aunt Elaine C. Carroll, cousins Michael Thomas Carroll, Carol H. Carroll and family Elizabeth Jean Carroll, and Mary Beth (Lopes) Baptiste, all of Vineyard Haven. She is also survived by cousins Lillian Anderson and Dee Dee Borza of Oak Bluffs and the late Patricia A. Costa and Virginia A. Hall and family.
In New Bedford, she is survived by her husband Robert Voisine, and her beloved dog Kiki. She is also survived by her brother Timothy Gomes, sisters Pamela Martin, Tammy Gomes and Becky Gomes. She is predeceased by her brother, Shawn Gomes, who died several years ago.
Contributions may be made in Robin’s memory to the Animal Shelter or a charity of one’s choice.
